Oh my. I've sadly neglected our blog this week. Soooorry. But I'm back with some updates now.
It's been cold and raining and raining and raining -with brief moments of sunshine, so most of our time has been spent doing some thorough cleaning of the inside of the house, although I've gotten bits and pieces done here and there outside. For instance, yesterday it was sunny and I got out in the yard to finish putting the block on our compost bin.
I like how it's getting that green effect on the lower blocks. No heat yet though.
I like how it's getting that green effect on the lower blocks. No heat yet though. Then I started digging more grass out of the new garden. Almost to the stick already.
During the dig, I uprooted a strange bug thing. It looks like a pod of some sort at the top, but there's obviously an alien segmented body at the bottom. I was confused. I picked it up with two twigs held like chopsticks and carried it into the house to the kitchen sink. With the sprayer, I rinsed the mud off of it-----AND IT STARTED MOVING! AAAAHHH!!! That gross segmented body started wiggling like a dog's tail! EEEK!!
What on earth is this thing?!?
Ok, that's enough. I've got plant updates too, but I'm too grossed out to continue right now.

Ew! I have no idea what that is....I am going to Google red larvae things though - maybe I will come up with something. Yuck!
Eew is right! Might it be a June bug larvae or something similar? Never mind, I just looked them up and they're more like a huge grub. Yuck! Good luck with the id. :)
Oooo! A moth pupa. It will eventually turn into a lovely moth of some kind.
:)
It won't hurt anything, though it is quite gross when it wiggles. lol.
