Uh oh! We impulse bought a Jersey Blueberry plant today while picking up mulch for our street-side bed (It looks fab-u-lous!). Well, it was only $2 something and we've been wanting one. The only thing is that we didn't know how to plant it. Now with all the ingredients needed, it's going to be about a $15 plant. Funny. It's worth it though if we don't kill it. Here's a gardeo about Blueberries. mmmmm mmmm good.
(Future reference - the street corner bed is 14 cubic feet.)

In our alkaline soil we have to grow blueberries in containers. Good luck
Deb.
Did you plant more than one blueberry bush? When I bought mine at a nursery they said you needed two in order for them to pollinate. I have no clue honestly - but just thought I would pass it along.
Hey Deb! Yeah, we're gonna have to do containers too. I've got a really cool one picked out that I'm hoping Matt will get me on Friday. (Fingers crossed)
Hey Suzy Q! We only bought one right now, the Jersey, but we're looking for another variety for just that reason. Jersey is a late fruiter, so I'd like to get an early and even a middle one too. Thanks for the heads up! -Jen :)
