I'm obliged to admit that yesterday, I did not do so well in acceptance about my smooshed and disrespected flower bed. I ended up making a little sign that clearly stated my wishes to the school children (KEEP OUT!). I tried to let it go, honestly. Logically I knew what the deal was, but I just couldn't shake the resistance to the situation. So, I stuck the sign in the bed. Then I carried the whole thing around with me all day. Again and again it kept coming back to haunt me, and I felt even more weird that I had reacted to it with a silly sign.
This morning I woke up feeling freer from the emotion and went out to check on it. Sure enough, there were more killed. I got slightly angry- but only at the very surface, barely skin deep. Then, I was able to accept it and that's when the grace moved in. I removed the sign and peacefully went into the backyard to bask in the beautiful sunshine on my face.

Have a great day!

Sorry to hear that your flowers got trampled. Very disheartening. We put flowers around two trees we have in our front yard near the road and they always get trampled by the neighbor kids. What is worse is we have an electrical box in our yard and the kids will sit on it and kick it and it just irritates me to no end! And it is practically under our bedroom window so we can hear them out there all the time - and they are teens - even worse with their little boyfriends joining the fun and spitting in our yard every two seconds. I am about ready to plant bushes with thorns or something around the eletrical box to keep them off. Arg!
I can certainly sympathize with you. One of the main reasons for getting a load of dirt is to build a raised border flower bed to try and keep the neighbor kids from trampling through my yard.
I also hate when people let their dogs pee on my mailbox flower bed. I've thought about placing a little sign there. I doubt they would care though. It makes you wonder what ever happened to common decency and courtesy.
My rose bushes keep kids out of my flower beds. I didn't do it intentionally, but it works. One mean old lady I knew as a child planted prickly pear and hot peppers among her flowers to "teach the kids a lesson." She was not nice. Sorry about the damage.
