Thanks to our visiting friends, we know that this gorgeous flower is a Columbine.

I put the rest of the bag of pine bark nuggets along the pathways between the rows of the garden. I like it. Why is it called a Cherry Plum tree? This is why.
And the best thing: New lavender blooms!!
There's way more than last year!
High: 61 Low: 52, cloudy, sprinkles; Lunar Phase: Waxing Gibbous, 85% of full.

Yes, those are irises. Aren't they pretty and they should smell good, too! I love the lavender as well, and can't resist touching them as I go by them, to smell the scent of them on my hands.
Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

Hi Jen! You're right, there is nothing better than a fresh flower bed...and it doesn't hurt that someone else removed the sod for me :) I love your state park pics...Makes me want to go out and find a good trail to wander...
Hmm, I thought I left a comment before, or maybe I just tried but couldn't sign in or something, Anyway... that columbine is absolutely wonderful. I could go for a few of those little honeys.
Thanks Cinj. They are a wonderful surprise since I really had nothing to do with them being there. heehee -Jen :)
